Emotional Health Centre – Disability and Rehabilitation Counselling in Melbourne

At the Emotional Health Centre, we provide Disability and Rehabilitation Counselling in Melbourne; as well as additional counselling in Cheltenham. Our experienced team of counsellors and psychologists provide support during difficult times as a result of: an injury or major illness; permanent or temporary disability; or the loss of employment.

Disability and Rehabilitation Counselling can help address obstacles, challenges and grief; and help individuals to strengthen their ability to cope and take-on new opportunities again.

EHC has three main areas of Disability and Rehabilitation Counselling, as outlined below.

Occupational Rehabilitation – Employment Loss and Return to Work

There are a number of work-related situations which require Occupational Rehabilitation Counselling, such as: recent job loss; the need to change roles or duties due to an injury, illness or disability; and returning to work after a period of time away.

Regardless of the reason, the prospect of re-entering the workforce can be daunting. EHC’s experienced Occupational Rehabilitation Counsellors can provide support to address barriers and motivational issues; and can help make the transition back to work seamless as possible.

Disability Support

Nicole Plotkin – Principal Psychologist, is registered to provide therapeutic supports under NDIS.

Her aim is to help achieve highly personalised and meaningful outcomes by assisting people of all ages and stages of their disability.

Nicole can also provide a comprehensive psychological assessment report or behaviour management plan, which can be used to support your NDIS application for counselling or plan to provide information for your day programs or other activities for your carers.

Please contact us directly to find out how we can help with your NDIS support needs.

Whether you are born with a disability, have acquired a disability through injury, or have a family member with a disability, you may be faced with loss and grief issues at different times. During these difficult periods, speaking with an experienced Disability and Rehabilitation Counsellor can provide support and relief.

At EHC, our Disability and Rehabilitation Counsellors can enhance your ability to cope; change your perceived potential and develop better ways to manage your disability.

We work closely with disability employment agencies to create a sustainable transition back into the workforce, or to help you to stay at work. We also help address any schooling and educational needs, and liaise with educators where appropriate.
